Eating Disorder Therapy
Eating disorders are an incredibly challenging and life altering illness. Struggling with an eating disorder can feel isolating, exhausting, and hopeless. However, with a strong support system recovery is possible.
Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the strength of the therapeutic relationship, I can help challenge Eating Disorder thoughts and rules and assist in reconnecting with your values.
Whether you struggle with a diagnosed eating disorder or would like to achieve food freedom and repair the relationship with your body, individual eating disorder therapy is a good route for you. Please contact me for more information!
Health At Every Size (HAES)
I work with a HAES informed approach. HAES is a weight-neutral approach to health, which prioritizes health-promoting behaviors rather than numbers on the scale. This approach is an important pillar in ED care as it challenges the societal conditioning to focus on weight-loss and body size over acceptance and honoring bodies of all sizes.
Health at Every Size is an evidence based approach which confronts the weight stigma engrained into our society that can prevent people of all body sizes from getting fair and effective health care. Principles of Health at Every Size include :
Weight Inclusivity
Health Enhancement
Eating for Well-Being
Respectful Care
Life Enhancing Movement
